The troops from the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) foiled a kidnapping attempt along the Takum-Jalingo road in TARABA State North East Nigeria.
The troops responded swiftly to a distress call, engaging the kidnappers in a fierce gun battle and forcing them to abandon their victims. Two passengers, Mr. Yakubu Usman and Mr. Godwin Peter, were rescued and taken to a medical facility for treatment.
According to Captain Oni, spokesperson for the 6 Brigade, “The gallant troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), in conjunction with officers of the Nigeria Police Force stationed at Samta, successfully foiled the kidnapping attempt at Muji Town.”
Captain Oni further stated that the 6 Brigade remains resolute in its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens in Taraba State and beyond.
He urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information to aid in the fight against criminal elements.
