The Kano State Police Command has taken into custody a 20-year-old man, Umar Auwal, also known as “Abba Dujal”, who voluntarily surrendered and confessed to a series of violent crimes committed across Kano and Jigawa states.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.
According to the statement, Auwal, a resident of Wudil Local Government Area of Kano State, confessed to the murder of a man in Sabon Gari Quarters, Kano, wherein he reportedly stabbed the victim to death and stole his Infinix Hot 40i smartphone, which he later sold for N40,000.
He also admitted to fatally stabbing another individual in Kurna Quarters, Kano, and stealing the victim’s Samsung S26 phone, which he sold for N160,000.
Additionally, Auwal confessed to killing a man in Ringim Local Government Area of Jigawa State and stealing his motorcycle, which he sold for N300,000.
Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, the Commissioner of Police, commended Auwal for surrendering and urged others involved in similar criminal activities to do the same.
The command reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
