Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, Ore Division, Odigbo Local Government area of the State has begun investigations into the controversy sorrounding the alleged impregnation of a 13-year-old member of the church by the Pastor in charge of Christ Apostolic Church.
The randy Pastor ,whose name was given as Peter James, was until the incident, the Pastor in charge of Christ Apostolic Church Modebiayo, Oke-Gburowo, Odigbo Local Government area of the state.
The Pastor who had earlier been arrested and quized by the operatives of Amotekun Corps was dragged to the palace of the traditional monarch of the sleepy community, Oloja Moses Ogunmoyewa, for allegedly impregnated a teenage member of choir of the church.
According to a source closed to the family of the victim, who also has minor deformity, said the randy Pastor had earlier pregnated their daughter and aborted the pregnant without their knowledge.
The family source said that during the interrogation at the palace of the Oloja of the sleepy community, the cleric had earlier confessed to being the one who impregnated the girl. The family added that the confession was documented by the monarch and other members of his subjects.
Trouble reportedly started when the randy pastor later denied ownership of the pregnancy. The matter was later intervened by the zonal headquarters of the church, but all efforts by his colleagues to persuade the pastor to accept responsibility for the pregnancy proved abortive.
According to the mother of the 13-year old girl, Mrs. Victoria Bernard, the man of God deliberately wants to deny the pregnancy because of the girl’s deformity.
She called on government, organisation as well as public spirited individuals to come to the aides of the family and intervene in the matter, saying the move will not allow the young girl to be overide by the man of God.
When contacted, the zonal headquarters of the church in Igburowo town declined to comment on the matter. However, one of the pastors, who did not want his name mentioned, said the issue is currently being handled by the church’s headquarters in Odigbo town and promised to get back to our reporter once the matter is resolved.
