Suspected cattle rustler arrested in Kogi

A suspected cattle rustler identified as Suleiman Isah, has been arrested by the Kogi Vigilante Service in Omala Local Government Area of the state.

The service’s spokesperson, S. O. Saka, disclosed this in a statement.

The suspect was arrested on Sunday, March 16, 2025, and handed over to the police for further investigation.

“At approximately 5:30 AM on March 16, 2025, Kogi State Vigilante Service successfully apprehended a suspected cattle rustler, Suleiman Isah, at the Dekina-Omala border, Ikpoba in Omala Local Government Area (LGA),” the statement read.

“Upon interrogation, the suspect identified his alleged accomplice and boss, Sumaila, who resides in Ayangba. Acting on this intelligence, operatives of the Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS) Ayangba Command swiftly arrested Sumaila.

“Both suspects, along with the recovered exhibits, have been handed over to the Nigeria Police, Omala Division, for further investigation and necessary legal actions.

“The Kogi State Vigilante Service appreciate the cooperation of the local community and reaffirm their commitment to tackling crime in the state.”
