An inspector of the Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC), Nathaniel Kumashe has been reportedly abducted by gunmen in Benue State.
The uncle of the victim, a former Special Adviser to Benue State Governor on Transportation, Chief Yimam Aboh, confirmed the incident saying it occurred on Wednesday night, March 19, 2025 at about 10pm.
He said the victim was abducted from his country home in Tse Aboh, Uchi-Mbakor in Tarka LGA of the as he returned to his house from the wake-keep of his late cousin who is to be buried this Friday.
According to him the armed, men on arrival, fired gunshots to scare his family members and neighbours before they abducted him.
He said youths in the entire community immediately launched a search throughout the night but the gunmen were fast gone.
Aboh said personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC joined in the search operation and the police have visited the community after the incident.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Benue State Command, CSP Catherine Anene referred our correspondent to the Road Safety Sector Command as she was not aware of the incident.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer for Road Safety in the State, Ngozi Ahula said the matter has been reported to the police.
