Jessica Aber, a former US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, was found d3ad at her home in Alexandria, Virginia, on Saturday, March 22.
The cause and manner of her death are yet to be determined by the Chief Medical Examiner of Virginia even as the Alexandria Police Department has launched an investigation into her death.
Aber was 43 years old and had recently resigned from her position.
She was appointed US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia by President Joe Biden in 2021.
She led the department for approximately three years, resigning in January this year when President Trump began his second term.
“We are heartbroken beyond words to learn of the passing of our friend and former colleague, U.S. Attorney Jessica Aber,” her successor, Erik Siebert, the current US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, said in a statement Saturday
