Gunmen abduct businessman in Kwara, demand N100m ransom

Gunmen abducted a businessman, Emeka Nwachukwu, from his clinic in Kosubosu, the headquarters of Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Nwachukwu was kidnapped at around 8:30 pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, by the gunmen who invaded his clinic on the outskirts of Kosubosu.

It was gathered that the abductors contacted Emeka’s family on Thursday morning, demanding a ransom of N100 million for his release.

The spokesperson of the State Police Command, Ejire-Adeyemi Toun, who confirmed the incident said that efforts are on to rescue the victim.

“The Kwara State Police Command is aware of the unfortunate kidnapping incident that occurred on 11th September 2024 at 8:30 p.m.,” he stated.

“It was reported that Mr Emeka C. Nwachukwu was kidnapped from his clinic on the outskirts of Kosubosu town. He was taken to an unknown location. The Police, along with local vigilantes, have intensified efforts to rescue the victim unharmed.
